Real-Time Strategy
Real-Time Strategy games are strategic games in which game play progresses continuously instead of the players taking discrete turns. That is, in a real-time strategy game, all players are moving around, gathering resources and making decisions simultaneously. In real-time strategy games the player generally has to reach some goal, such as defeating all enemies, by making strategic decisions about how to use their units, manage their resources, and take advantage of the natural environment around them. Real-Time strategy games often include some aspects of economics and production as well as unit control and manipulation. Like their turn-based equivalents, they may also include alliances and diplomatic relations.
In real-time strategy games, time is an important part of the strategy. Players can give themselves an advantage by using their time well, and making poorer decisions quickly may give them an edge over a player who makes very good decisions, but takes a long time to make them. In real-time strategy games, the speed at which you make your strategic decisions may have a consequence on the outcome of the game.
